Abstract

What are the contributions of comparative studies to the understanding of the social productivity of politics and its heterogeneous institutional and territorial scales? This article aims to contribute to answering this question through a comparative study of two ethnographic cases. On the one hand, the social production of federalismo within the Central Region of Argentina, formed by the provinces of Córdoba, Entre Ríos and Santa Fe. On the other hand, the production of abertzalism within the social movement Gure Esku Dago in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. I propose to examine comparatively how social actors: i) mobilize certain political concepts such as values of nation, ii) ponder scalarly those values, and iii) produce significant social totalities in which i) and ii) have a politically productive territorial impact.
