We present a review of the book Political actors, elections and party systems. A comparative approach from sub-national politics in Latin America, compiled by Behrend and Whitehead. It provides a general and particular tour of each chapter; as well as a brief personal insight on the book’s contributions and its relationship with classical studies of democracy and its territorial heterogeneity.
